DAILY CARE
For basic cleaning, we recommend using a soft cloth with a mild dish soap such as Dawn, and warm water. Wipe the cabinets down, and be sure to dry thoroughly.
For spills or watermarks, we recommend you wipe those up as soon as they occur. Use a soft, damp cloth, be sure to avoid scouring pads and abrasive cleaners. Dry thoroughly.
Frequently look around areas near the sink & dishwasher to be sure they are wiped down after use to avoid stains or warping.
Avoid draping damp or wet dishtowels over the door of the sink base cabinet. Overtime the moisture can cause permanent water damage to the door.
Avoid high temperatures and humidity throughout the year. Extremes in temperature & humidity can cause wood to warp or the glue used in applying veneers to loosen.
Never place furniture in direct sunlight, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause change in color.
WOOD CABINET SURFACES
As with all wood products, avoid excessive moisture. LaFata Cabinets is designed for use inside the home or other buildings and is not intended for outdoor applications.
Once your cabinets have been installed, wipe down all exteriors with a damp cloth to remove dust. Complete a small area at a time and wipe dry.
Wood cabinetry finishes may be cleaned and protected by using a damp cloth with a mild detergent.
CLEANING AGENTS
DO
Use a damp cloth when cleaning normal household spills. After wiping thoroughly, dry the surface with lint-free cotton.
For stubborn stains, it may be necessary to use a mild detergent or dish soap with warm water. Always dry the surface immediately.
DON'T
Avoid spray-type polishes containing petroleum solvents.
Do not uses wax polishes on the surface of your cabinets as this may cause a build-up of film to develop that may pick up dirt, smoke or other pollutants in the air. This film may then start to smudge or streak.
Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or powdered cleansers. Do not allow oven cleaner to touch any part of the cabinet. Do not use a dishcloth to wipe your cabinet exterior, since it may contain remnants of grease or detergents.
